On Amsterdam’s meanest streets, Jesus’ soldiers are
purging Satan from the Kingdom of Darkness. So claim the small bands of born-again former drug addicts, criminals and prostitutes, who roam drug ghettos and the Red-Light district seeking out and converting lost souls.
They are members of Victory Outreach, a church founded in 1967 in Los Angeles, now spreading to Europe via the
Nether-lands. Once a junky or prostitute joins the church, he
or she goes into a rehabilitation centre for intensive reform. Nothing but the Bible is allowed. No methadone, cigarettes,
sex, family or television. Just God against the Cold Turkey.
For one year they pray, study the Holy Book and return to the streets to recruit.
