The soaring increase in street crime in Brixton, London, has prompted the Metropolitan Police to react creatively. Amongst the new initiatives, they are trying unorthodox ways such as the STREET PASTORS INITIATIVE, organised by Ascension Trust and its Director, Les Isaac. The initiative originates from Kingston, Jamaica, where churches banded together to take their values onto the streets. The group patrols some of the capital’s most dangerous neighbourhoods – areas blighted by drugs, gangs and increasingly guns.

Street Pastors are given lecture on the subject of firearms, provided by the officers from the SO19 squad of Metropolitan Police.
