Left: The Association des Naturistes de Paris (ANP) rents a Parisian swimming pool, few hours a week, to make it possible for their subscribers to swim naked; Right:The sauna, like bathrooms or locker rooms, is mixed.

Nothing can be easier than practising naturism on a beach in the summer. All it takes is to drop the swimming costume. Arnaoutchot in Les Landes and Le Cap d’Adge are long established hobs for the naturism activity. But is this practise compatible with the Parisian urban life?

In the capital, a swimming pool, a hammam and a sauna have accepted to open their doors to those swimming addicts for few hours a week. When they are in their own environment, naturists can practise diving or gymnastics. The “textiles”, those who cannot do without their swimming costumes in the naturist jargon, are invited to go elsewhere. And voyeurism is naturally out of place.
