The LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) was founded in 1976 by Veluppilai Prabakaran, Tamil Tiger‘s supreme leader, started as a band of young men pursuing the dream of a separate Tamil state and went on to become a powerful rebel army.
